Collection and Shipping Requirements
Measure 24 hour volume. Aliquot 3mL in 12x75 plastic tube for urine creatinine, 3mL in 12x75 plastic tube for urine aldosterone. Centrifuge and decant both aliquots. Freeze aldosterone tube, refrigerate creatinine and send both on ice pack.

Measurement Uncertainty (MU)
Every laboratory value is an estimate of the true concentration of substance. MU is the 95% confidence interval around that estimate. 95% of the time, the true concentration will be within the range of the reported value ±MU. This value is based on analytical variability (precision) and does not reflect other factors such as sample collection and handling which may also affect the result.

Measurement Uncertainty
Patient should be off β-blockers and diuretics for 2 weeks prior to test. Refrigerate urine during collection.
Referring sites need to include 24 hour volume, patient's height and weight on requisition.
